Checklist - Drum Dance
Clothes

Clothes for the cold: Scarf, a poncho or thick jacket, wool socks and wool hat.

For the rain: Waterproof cape or poncho

Women: Traditionally women wear long dresses or long skirts and blouses with sleeves (optionally chosen, decorated or designed by yourself, symbolizing your inner dance). You can wear ¾ or long leggings under the dress. Bring 2 changes of dance clothes (one for each day).

For the Sacred Sauna: t-shirt and long skirt in addition to the ceremony/dance dresses.

Do not wear shorts or top.

Slippers (havaianas) and towel.

Men: For the dance, wear shirts optionally decorated with some design or decoration (with ribbons, for example) with long pants, or better yet, male Native American skirts (with shorts underneath). There are 2 changes of clothes, one for each day.

For the Sacred Sauna: shorts or bermuda shorts and a t-shirt, flip-flops and a towel.
Items for the Ceremony

Rattle and feathers (optional).

Two packets of tobacco.

Cotton fabric in red, black, yellow and white (25 cms each cut into squares of approximately 7 cms x 7 cms) thin string and scissors (You can bring 3 more colors - blue, green and pink), It is better to bring the number of ready-made prayer knots wrapped in cardboard so as not to tangle.

The number of prayer knots will be advised in advance: For 2017: 35 prayer knots (5 of each of the 7 colors). They can do more if they want.

No alcohol, drugs and visitors.

Fasting from water and food is recommended for this dance. However, the modification of this point depends on each participant. Talk to Felicity before the dance. Fasting begins after the Sacred Sauna.

Anyone who needs to eat until that time will be responsible for their own food (fruits, juices, plenty of mineral water, 5 to 10 liters, bread, sandwiches and other light foods are recommended).

On the morning of arrival there will be a person registering the dancers. Everyone has to register, including supporters, drummers, fire keeper and kitchen angels.

All schedules (Sauna, Orientation Meetings, Sharing and Beginning of the Dance) will be announced on the spot, on the day of the dance,

Everyone participates in the Sauna, without exception: dancers, support people, fire guardian, kitchen angels and drummers.

We will have an orientation meeting at 1 pm. Please check in at the quoted time to fully enjoy the Dance and not delay the start of the Dance.

Food before the dance

From 1 to 2 weeks before the Drum Dance, it is good to remove meat and spicy foods from your diet.

Reduce caffeine little by little (coffee, chocolate, green tea, Coca-Cola) so that on the days of the ceremony you don't have headaches and heavy belly.

Salt and sugar prevent visions. Use these products sparingly.
